Expert Panel on Diagnostic Imaging Quality Seeks Feedback on Diagnostic Imaging Recommendations
Tasked by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care in December 2013, experts from across the system formed the Expert Panel on Diagnostic Imaging Quality which was chaired by Dr. Joshua Tepper, President and CEO of Health Quality Ontario. The Panel met for a period of nine months to develop practical guiding principles and recommendations for a peer-review program that could be adopted for diagnostic imaging service providers across Ontario. The purpose of the peer review program is to support continuous improvement in diagnostic imaging and is designed to be part of a broader quality management framework.
The IDCA was one of the organizations represented on the Expert Panel and the Panel’s work has culminated in the Expert Panel on Diagnostic Imaging Quality. The recommendations in the report are a work in progress and the Expert Panel is now seeking feedback from radiologists and other physicians who perform medical imaging. Of particular interest are any implications individuals anticipate as the system implements a peer-review process as recommended in the report.
To facilitate the collection of feedback, Health Quality Ontario will be hosting two webinars on January 15 and 27 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. These webinars are an opportunity for diagnostic imaging service providers to share their feedback live with members of the panel. Participation in the webinars is free. Interested individuals are able to sign up by emailing events@hqontario.ca
Once you have registered, you will receive further details about participation in these webinars via email.
